Nana Plaza & Soi Cowboy: All bars closed

Since last week (April 9) all bars and nightlife venues in 41 provinces including Bangkok, Pattaya, Phuket, Hua Hin or Chiang Mai are closed to prevent the further spreading of Covid-19 in Thailand. Especially Bangkok has been hit hard with a cluster in the Thonglor nightlife scene where hundreds of people caught the UK-strain of the Covid19 virus.

Just around 8 weeks after the last closure bars, pubs and nightlife venues are forced to close again. Below picture is the sad view into Soi Cowboy yesterday late afternoon. A time when usually hundreds of ladies and visitors would be around enjoying the first drinks of the evening. Famous Nana Plaza in Soi 4 looks exactly the same. Nothing is open, all bars and Gogo’s are shut down and the lights are off.

The closure has been announced for at least 14 days but with the current number it’s very unlikely to see any bars re-open end of next week again. Let’s hope the situation improves fast!
